Active tourism is becoming more and more popular each year. It is also a very important part of the tourism offer of each country. It helps the local economy, environment protection and sustainable development.
Therefore, this project aims to create an integrated cross-border tourist destination, internationally recognizable for active tourism. It targeted Regional Nature Park Piva and Municipality of Pluzine in Montenegro, and National Park Sutjeska and Municipality of Foca in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The project also focuses on improving small-scale tourism infrastructure and establishing mechanisms to increase security at tourist sites, as well as creating joint tourism products to attract more tourists. As new tourism products will be introduced rock-climbing, kayaking and wildlife and bird-watching. Additionally, joint one-day and multi-day tours will be developed through the project. The tours will include both existing attractions in the cross-border area and new tourism products. In that way will be enriched the tourism offer of the cross-border area and increased number of visitors to Municipalities Pluzine and Foca.
