A.C.C.E.N.T.- Accessibility, Civic Conscience, Employment for Persons with Disabilities, as a New TREND

About the project

Promoting inclusion and equality of opportunity for employment of people with disabilities (PWDs) is very important for social and economic development of every country. Unfortunately, PWDs are likely to be unemployed or earn less than non-disabled people.

This project is aimed at increasing employment opportunities for PWDs offered by potential employers, and increasing the employability of PWDs through development of their competences and professional skills. It will also contribute to social inclusion of PWDs and better cooperation among sectors in the field of employment of PWDs. The project targeted the area of Municipalities Bar and Ulcinj in Montenegro, and Municipalities Shkodra and Lezha in Albania.

During its implementation period, it is expected that this project results in increased employability and new employment opportunities for PWDs; as well as and development of a better ecosystem for work inclusion of PWDs, both at institutional and business level.

Implemented by the NGO Monitor Center for Media and Democracy, with an aim to help reducing the level of peer violence against Roma youth. In order to raise awareness of peer violence against members of the Roma community, this sub-grant included production of several research articles. In the research process were also involved journalists from the Roma portal “Romalitika”.
