On the one hand, both Kosovo and Montenegro are facing the fact that their youth is leaving rural areas to seek jobs in cities. On the other hand, both countries have growing youth unemployment rates and ageing farmers.
This project aims to improve access to the labour market and foster employment of youth in the agricultural sector. It is expected to help strengthen the capacities of young, unemployed people in rural areas of Peja, Istog, Podgorica and Tuzi, encouraging them to get involved in agriculture and help them create sustainable linkages for continued employment.
During its implementation period, it will be provided production equipment and organised different capacity-building activities, such as workshops and training for the production of aromatic herbs, olive oil and dairy products. Also, a fair will be organized for all users who have started their production, where they will present their products. In that way will be facilitated linkage with buyers of agricultural products and promoted local production.
