CARES 2 – Cross-border Actions in the REproductive Health Sector 2

About the project

Reproductive health is important for women’s general health and wellbeing. That is why it is necessary for women to have inclusive health services and equal access to accurate information about reproductive health.

This project aims to improve the quality of reproductive health services and raise the awareness of the population in the cross-border area about the importance of protecting reproductive health, with the focus on socially vulnerable groups.

It is a continuation of the CARES project, which ended in February 2021. The CARES 2 project covers more municipalities, in order to reach a larger population and increase the impact of the action. Thanks to this project, the population in the target area, with the emphasis on socially vulnerable groups, will be provided with the information on why it is important to protect reproductive health and conduct preventive examinations.

It is expected the project will improve capacity of public health institutions and the quality of reproductive health services in the cross-border region, as well as cross-border cooperation in the reproductive health sector. It is also expected to result in better informed youth, that is familiarised with responsible behaviour as regards its reproductive health; and designed and implemented Programme for pregnancy support.
