Accursed mountains – exquisite outdoor destination

About the project

Outdoor tourism represents an important aspect of sustainable tourism delivery in every country. This project will support further development of the cross border area “Bjeshket e Nemuna/Prokletije” as an outdoor tourism destination. It will improve tourism infrastructure and increase the visibility of an area which is very rich in biodiversity and geological diversity.

With this project will be enhanced promotional activities to present Bjeshket e Nemuna/Prokletije as one destination for tourists, with a unique network of trails and unique branding. The project envisages the installation and development of hiking and cycling trails in the length of 300 km, setting up 10 bicycle parking lots, as well as equipping the outdoors and signing for 30 viewing points, 50 rest areas and 50 water outlets. Therefore, it is envisaged to set up theme trails and climbing platforms for connecting important existing paths on both sides. In that way will be reinforced the offer of the cross border area as an attractive outdoor tourism destination.
